What must I do to be saved?

First we must realize what we are, what we can do, but more importantly: "What we cannot do:

We can do nothing:

Romans 3:10 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Isaiah 64:6 - But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

We are all sinners

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Just as one receives pay (wages) for working. There is "payment" (wages) to receive for sin
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death;
As Newton said: For every action there is an equal an opposite reaction Because we are born into sin, therefore we are sinners we are receive the payment or the result of sin which is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The gift of God allows us to accept Jesus as our Savior. He paid the debt (wages) for us. A free gift that cost us nothing to accept, but cost Jesus Christ His life to provide.

How does one accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour?

Romans 10:9-12 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

What is saved?

John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Born again?

In the Garden of Eden, when sin entered into man the Spirit died. When one accepts the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The Spirit is "Born Again"

How simple is salvation?

Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Yes, "whosoever calls" with a sincere heart on the Lord for Salvation He will hear you and forgive you of your sins!

Maybe you have been told different. Maybe you have been taught that there is more than just accepting the Lord in your heart. Re-read the Romans 10:9 "confess with thy mouth" and "believe in thine heart" The Bible is clear: WHOSOEVER!

So why have many been told different?

II Corinthians 11:3 - But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The 'simplicity' in Christ is WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED!

So what happens to those who do not accept (the same as rejecting) the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior?
Rev. 20:15 - And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Yes if you do NOT accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior you will be cast into the lake of fire!

But you have been taught that God is Love and would not do that. God is LOVE:
I John 4:7-8 - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

So how is God love?

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
It is God's love that sent His only begotten Son to pay the debt we owe.
John 6:47 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

So I ask you now, After reading the above verses, if you were to die right now where would you go? If you cannot say Heaven with a shadow of doubt. What would stop you from bowing down and praying to the Lord to save you from spending eternity in Hell? Ask the Lord to come into your heart and forgive you of your sins. He will separate them from you as far as the east is from the west. Pray, from your heart, for the Lord to enter into your life, accept His free gift of salvation. If it were a new car would you hesitate? Please repent from your sin and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, He went to cross on Calvary for us. Please call upon Jesus today. It may be the last chance you have.

Proverbs 27:1 - Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

The Lord is knocking will you let Him in.
Rev. 3:20 - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

He is near...
James 4:8 - Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Please call upon the Lord today.
There may not be that much time left. Romans 13:11 - And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
